As entrepreneurs, we are all focussed on finding new clients and growing our businesses profitably. For many of us, women represent a significant proportion of the target market for our services. The female economy is massive and growing – women are responsible for over 80% of purchase decisions and have been described as ‘the most valuable and important target audience on Earth’. Everyone is looking for a slice.

As women entrepreneurs we need to capitalise on our strengths within this female economy. There are many examples of women feeling patronised, dissatisfied or uncomfortable with the services delivered to them across all market sectors. Many women, given the choice, would prefer to do business with another woman… someone they can build a relationship with, feel empathy with and be personally secure with. All of which is provided intuitively and quite naturally by another woman.
So the challenge is to make it easy for women to find these female entrepreneurs. Most women would love a personal recommendation but in an increasingly virtual world, the first port of call to find information is invariably the internet.
Women’sBusinessWeb
Welcome to Women’sBusinessWeb. Our website is dedicated to putting woman consumers in touch with women businesses. We connect, inform and support women who would prefer to deal with women providers of professional and lifestyle services.
For the consumer it works like this:
- type in a post code and select the service you are looking for from a virtual world of female lawyers, accountants, financial advisors, coaches, counsellors, carers, tutors and tradespeople.
- Find the business closest and best suited to you.
What’s more you can read or write a review so if you have received a brilliant service you can share it with other women. And there’s a whole lot of ‘woman’ relevant information besides as well as forums to share ideas and discuss common issues and problems.

On line Directory
We are currently building our directory of women business providers before we launch the site to consumers at the end of 2011. We simply ask for information about the service you provide, your areas of expertise, your accreditations and qualifications so that we can promote your business.
Charitable donation
We donate 20% of all subscriptions to charities that support women as we know that as women we like to give something back to the community. At this time we have chosen to support Rape Crisis as this is a very important charity particularly for women and one that has traditionally struggled to get funding from business. Details of the charity can be found here.
What it costs
As an introductory offer there is nothing to pay until April 2012 so you can try before you buy. And if you register your business before the end of December 2011 then you can have 50% off your first year’s subscription.
After the trial period there’s a simple two tier subscription fee. For those businesses where we provide information, content, forums and blogs as well as the directory (legal, accounting, financial services, coaching/counselling, business services) we will charge £200 pa and for those where we simply provide directory information it’s just £100 p/a.
Register
So if you are a woman who owns, runs, or represents a business then register now.
Remember that at this stage it’s free so there is nothing to lose and no contractual obligation.
Launching the site to Women Consumers
We will be going live to women consumers later this year supported by a social media campaign and PR. Spread the word!
If you are a woman consumer interested in using the site let us have your email and we will get back in contact when the site goes live.
